Jack White Promises Magically Inexpensive Mystery Tour After Coachella

A few bucks and a world of luck is all you need to snag a ticket to Jack White’s first foray into a completely acoustic void.

The musician’s official website (h/t NY Daily News) states White will end his current tour with a generous hat tip to fans.

The current Lazaretto tour will be the 39-year-old’s last “for a long period of time,” so it’s understandable that a huge clamor for remaining tickets would ensue.

Well, it’s about to get a lot more frantic for fans, because White is promising a delightful denouement in the form of $3 tickets for completely acoustic shows.

If that weren’t enough to grab your attention, White is setting sail for the five states that have yet to welcome the prolific leader of such previous bands as The White Stripes and The Raconteurs.

Here is what the release states: “The states these shows are occurring in will be unannounced until the day of each performance. Joining Jack on his jaunt across these locations will be musicians making up an acoustic quartet, including Fats Kaplin, Lillie Mae Rische and Dominic Davis.”

And here is where the luck comes in, because the venue will be announced on the day of the show at 8 in the morning. From there you will have to sprint to the venue and hope to be one of the few to grab a ticket, which will go on sale at noon of the same day.

We imagine the kind of frenzy befitting a concert from a modern maestro who is taking on a completely acoustic set for the first time in his career.

Now we leave the rest of the hard work to you Internet sleuths. However, CNN did yeoman’s work in tracking down the states not previously visited by White in whatever iteration of his career.

The website found that when you include White Stripes concerts you get a golden number of nine remaining states: “That leaves nine states for which we could not find a show for White: Hawaii (where a show is scheduled for tomorrow, April 15), Arkansas, Idaho, Utah, Wyoming, Vermont, Iowa, and North and South Dakota.”

CNN, with further considerations, has the final states as the following: “Through the process of elimination (surely he has played Boise, Little Rock, and Salt Lake?), our guess as to which five ‘states’ White will play on the brief acoustic run: South and North Dakota, Wyoming, Vermont and ... Puerto Rico?”

We will say this isn’t the definitive list but a fantastic guess at what is to come. That’s where the fun comes in for what will be the final live push for White for quite some time.

Fans can now pore over the minutiae of White’s past concerts while listening to his albums in the background.

It’s a nice way to work out a mystery while you consider whether you might be among the fortunate few to get a surprise visit from White and his scintillating collective of marvelous musicians.
