We will once again be a part of the rhythm nation as Janet Jackson announces the initial North American dates for her “Unbreakable” world tour.

The 49-year-old artist unveiled the dates and locations for what will be a dramatic return to the stage for Jackson.

Her website offers the following: “This first leg, a 36-date tour, 30 of which are promoted by Live Nation, will take the legendary artist to cities throughout the U.S. and Canada with shows lined up in Los Angeles, Chicago, Miami, Atlanta, San Diego, San Francisco, and more.”

Jackson will cover a wide swath of the country, entertaining with songs new and old with the finale for the tour coming on Nov. 12 in Honolulu.

Now the announcement ends something of a lengthy hiatus for Jackson whom Billboard reminds has not toured in four years.

What’s more is the fact that fans will have a new set of songs to occupy their time in their car and treadmill, because Jackson is releasing her new album in tandem with the tour.

Fans have been eagerly awaiting a new album since Jackson unveiled “Discipline” way back in 2008.

So you have been sitting forlornly in your room patiently awaiting tour info and details on a new album for several years.

Well, you will have to wait just a wee bit longer to purchase tickets and listen to said album. The latter of which is now available for pre-ordering.

As for the tour, tickets will go on sale June 22, but there is hope for those with an Amex in hand.

The website states, “American Express Card members can purchase tickets for select shows before the general public beginning Monday, June 15 at 10:00 a.m. through Friday, June 19 at 10:00 p.m.”

Nabbing a preorder of the new album also gets you an exclusive opportunity at presale premium tickets, so there is plenty of chances to get tickets early for super fans.

Until then we suggest rifling through the playlist for classic Janet anthems, because this year will belong to the legendary pop singer.
