Officials from the Kings Dominion theme park in Virginia have announced plans to expand its Peanuts-themed portion of the facility for 2017.

The Planet Snoopy area of Kings Dominion is one of the most popular, and officials are looking to make it even more enjoyable for families by adding three new rides, an event space and upgraded food and beverage locations.

The Peanuts-themed rides include the Kite Eating Tree, which asks guest to help Charlie Brown get his kite back from the evil kite-eating tree. In addition, visitors can board a plane via Sally's Sea Plane attraction where they will lifted into the sky.

Another attraction drawing attention is the Peanuts 500, a car ride that allows kids to hit the track in race cars designed for parents and children as they make their way around the closed track.

With the expansion, the 14-acre Planet Snoopy will now feature 20 rides designed for families to experience together. Children three to five years of age will be admitted into Planet Snoopy free of charge with the brand new Kings Dominion Pre-K Pass.
