Get ready to lose your nostalgic mind, because Frogger is coming to Las Vegas.
Now, however, instead of the usual frustration that comes with seeing your little, green avatar go splat, you can soon lose money at the game as well.
Frogger: Get Hoppin' now resides inside the MGM Grand's LEVEL UP, a big kid's paradise of familiar games.
Tom Jingoli, executive vice president & chief commercial officer at Konami Gaming, Inc. is understandably proud of unveiling Nevada's first primary skills-based game to the scene.
Jingoli states: "Considering Konami's extensive heritage in consumer arcade and video game entertainment, we're excited to bring that creativity and technology to the gaming industry in new ways and help pioneer the development of next generation gaming product."
A press release explains that this iteration of Frogger had its coming out party last fall at the Global Gaming Expo. With the adoration gamers have for the title, we can see why officials decided to make this the game to introduce fans to this kind of fun and this level of reward system.

As for what you can expect, Frogger: Get Hoppin' is described in much the same way you remember the game, but in this case, it accepts a $2 entry wager.
For your money, you have the opportunity at "random cash awards." Not that money is why you play because you are in it for the glory. There will be leaderboards featured in the game as well so you can own bragging rights.
Jingoli continues on the impact of this particular title: "We're very pleased with the response we've seen to Frogger: Get Hoppin'. Throughout the trial and competition event an entire spectrum of player types have tried the game, but by far the largest audiences represented were those not traditionally engaged in gaming activities at the casino. As this emerging sector continues to expand, players can look forward to connecting with new forms of gaming entertainment that reinforce their interests and social preferences."
Konami has long been a household name with gamers, and now our interest is good and piqued.
We say don't stop at Frogger. We now need to see some Vegas style versions of "Contra" and "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles." Seeing as how we are about to drop Bobby's college tuition on some Frogger, that might not be too much to ask.
If only "up, up, down, down, left, right, left, right, B, A, Start" worked at the Blackjack tables as well...
