The Williamstown Theatre Festival has been bringing the world’s greatest actors, directors and playwrights to Williamstown, MA — located in the Berkshires — every summer since 1955.

Each WTF season is “designed to present unique opportunities for artists and audience alike, revisiting classic plays with innovative productions, developing and nurturing bold new plays and musicals, and offering a rich array of accompanying cultural events including Free Theatre, Late-Night Cabarets, readings, workshops and educational programs.”

Among the hundreds of amazing productions produced during WTF’s summer seasons was 2012’s “The Elephant Man,” starring Bradley Cooper, which eventually made its way to Broadway, a 1974 production of “The Seagull” with Blythe Danner and Frank Langella, as well as a production of “Picnic” starring a very young Gwyneth Paltrow, Tony Goldwyn and Jane Krakowski that debuted in 1991.

Earlier this summer we caught Marisa Tomei in a stellar performance as Serafina in Tennessee Williams’ “The Rose Tattoo,” just one of seven plays WTF produced this summer. Though the season is winding down, you can still catch Jane Kaczmarek and Alfred Molina in “And No More Shall Pass” on the Nikos Stage, through Aug. 21. The production tells the story of Pam (Kaczmarek) who becomes terminally ill, and her husband Don (Molina), as they face the most difficult decision in their loving marriage.

There are still tickets available for several upcoming dates starting at $58 each. You can purchase tickets at

Williamstown is located about an hour east of Albany, NY, about three and a half hours north of NYC and about three hours west of Boston, by car. It makes a great day trip from just about anywhere in the Northeast. Check out what else you can do in Williamstown at
