Residents of Alderaan take cover, because the Legoland Death Star is fully operational.
The LA Times’ Mary Forgione reports the California theme park has a new Star Wars-themed installation in the form of a humongous Lego Death Star.
Visitors are thusly mandated to look at the marvel and exclaim, “That’s no moon.”
Now if you don’t plan on visiting anytime soon, you can catch a glimpse thanks to Legoland’s Twitter account, which tweeted out this awesome image of Darth Vader standing by his military installation:
And there is this video that shows the unveiling that featured Stormtroopers as well as a commander who seems quite full of himself and the Empire:
Like a lightsaber, this thing is elegant, beautiful but quite deadly. OK, so the Lego version won’t wipe out any planets, but it will mystify any who stand before it.
Forgione has some startling figures on the behemoth Death Star that is adorned with fighters looming nearby: “Leogland's model measures 8 feet wide, stands 13 feet high and weighs more than 1,900 pounds.”
What’s more, the entire display features 500,000 Legos, which puts that Millennium Falcon you have been working on to shame.
Now as long as there are no obvious weak points it should be there for quite some time.
