Lionel Richie is saying “Hello!” to the prospect of going all night long with a Las Vegas residency that may just procure an endless love. I guess the man is just stuck on you.

Egregious song references aside, we really do have some tremendous news for fans of the 66-year-old singer.

According to Reuters’ Marie-Louise Gumuchian, Richie will join the ranks of Elton John, Mariah Carey, Celine Dion and Britney Spears as pop stars who enjoyed a residency in Sin City.

Even Jennifer Lopez is set to unveil her stint in January with a residency at the Planet Hollywood.

According to the report, Richie’s lineup will include 20 shows, which will of course feature all those hits you absolutely love to belt out while taking a shower. In this case, the songs will be performed in key.

Here he is explaining to “Today” about his upcoming tenure at Planet Hollywood’s AXIS, which begins next April:

And Richie is the perfect performer for a place like Las Vegas, which brings a wide swath of demographics to its confines of casinos, clubs and family entertainment attractions.

Richie offered that he’s noticed there still remain fans from the Commodore days and those who fell in love with his music in the '80s.

However, there is a new generation that appreciates the classics, via the above video:  “It’s ‘my mom and dad played all your music when I was growing up’ generation.”

In a similar fashion, Richie washed away his trepidation over a Vegas residency thanks to a younger expert of sorts.

Reuters quotes Richie who states: “Vegas was cool and then Vegas was not cool for a while, and then now it's not only cool, but it's amazing now, it's a destination. I finally asked my specialist in Vegas, my 21-year-old son, what do you think? And he said 'It's the coolest thing in the world dad'. So we are coming to Vegas.”

You can get more information on the aptly titled “All The Hits” residency at Richie’s website. Tickets for the concerts will go on sale this Friday.
