October is ‘Halloweentown’ Month in Oregon
If you grew up watching “Halloweentown,” you can relive it all during St. Helens, Oregon’s Spirit of Halloween Festival.
The movie was filmed in St. Helens in 1998, a role the town embraces with special events throughout the entire month of October. This year’s festivities kicked off on Saturday, Oct. 8 with the lighting of the Great Pumpkin and, who better to help out with the lighting than Marnie from the movie (a.k.a. Kimberly J. Brown).
In addition to showing off the giant pumpkin, the town has also reconstructed two of the movie’s magical movie sets which fans can tour, it will also host a costume cocktail party, haunted tractor rides and fall festival.
Throughout the month, fans can also enjoy self-guided haunted tours, including spooky displays at local businesses!
Tickets are on sale for the event now. To learn more and see the full schedule, visit discovercolumbiacounty.com.
