Thanks to the kindness of locals around Orkney, a bride had a treasure trove of something borrowed.
Mashable’s Sam Haysom reports on the goodwill story of the week, which features a bride-to-be suffering the frightening prospect of lost luggage right before her wedding.
Losing your luggage is never ideal; these are things you precisely pack on your respective trip, after all.
But we offer that your wedding, an extraordinary moment in one’s life, is an especially bad time to be without necessities.
That is what happened to Lucia Session who arrived at the Kirkwall Hotel in Orkney, Scotland, without her wedding wardrobe. We imagine a general freaking out ensued.
However, the staff posted the following to its Facebook page:
That garnered a wonderful outpouring from individuals willing to lend what they could to aid the wedding.
Thankfully, this beautiful story has a fairy tale ending, because Sessions was able to borrow all the items she needed.
The hotel proclaimed on Facebook: “Thank you to everyone that has offered bits and bought things down, we are completely overwhelmed by the kindness of people. We are sorted! Thank you again.”
Sessions even had her moment in the Internet sun thanks to the following images and video wherein she offered up a huge thanks to those who helped:
Sessions offers in the video that she found a dress despite not being the size she thought she was.
The bride states, “I'm really grateful for the dress that fit, but I would have been absolutely honored to wear any of your gorgeous dresses.”
Sessions continued, “I know they tell the story of your life, and it's a story I'll share too.”
And an already unforgettable moment in her life gets some icing for the figurative wedding cake.
She couldn’t have picked a better location for her nuptials. Little did she know that an unforeseen travel tragedy could be averted thanks to some amazing people in the area.
This beautiful matrimony has been brought to you by the fine people of Orkney.
