Last month, AMC confirmed it had renewed its comic book adaptation "Preacher" for a second season.
The next season will expand from the current season's 10 episodes to 13, and will air sometime next year.
The series follows "a Texas preacher named Jesse Custer (Dominic Cooper) who is inhabited by a mysterious entity called Genesis that gives him the power to make people do whatever he commands. Once this power attracts the attention of two mysterious angels, Fiore (Tom Brooke) and DeBlanc (Anatol Yusef), Jesse, his badass ex-girlfriend Tulip (Ruth Negga), and an Irish vampire named Cassidy (Joseph Gilgun) are thrust into a crazy world populated by a cast of characters from Heaven, Hell and everywhere in between."
"Preacher" is currently the number-two new series on cable among adults 18-49 and adults 25-54, and averages 3.3 million viewers per episode, making the announcement of a second season no surprise.

"What Sam, Seth, Evan and the entire creative team have achieved in bringing Garth Ennis' graphic novel to the screen is extraordinary. We look forward to more time with these unforgettable characters be it in Heaven, Hell, Texas or beyond."

Another no-brainer for the show is a possible move to Georgia for season 2. The first season was filmed entirely in and around Albuquerque, NM, where Albuquerque Studios served as its home base. But, like most productions, the series is looking to cut costs and Georgia's current tax incentives are hard to resist. This is one reason why Atlanta is currently serving as the filming location for more than 25 different movie and TV projects, including the new Spider-Man movie and AMC's other hit series, "The Walking Dead."
The cast broke the news of a potential move during an interview with EW Radio at SDCC last week. There is no start date yet for season 2, but we won't be surprised if start hearing about Toadvine (the show's working title) casting calls and signs in and around Atlanta sometime soon.
