The Memorial Day holiday weekend is all about spending time with family and friends, and there is no better place to visit than Disneyland and the May 27 opening of Guardians of the Galaxy - Mission: BREAKOUT!.
Located in Disney California Adventure Park, the new Guardians of the Galaxy ride is replacing the popular Twilight Zone Tower of Terror.
While some hardcore theme park fans were up in arms about the decision, the high-energy and hilarious new attraction should appease even the most skeptical fans.

Visitors will be treated to an original storyline based on the Guardians of the Galaxy series, with soundtracks inspired by the movies and including artists like Steppenwolf, The Jackson 5, Pat Benatar, Elvis Presley and more.
Each time through the new attraction will be different, as it will also feature multiple ride profiles.
The adventure begins as guests enter The Collector's Fortress, an 183-foot tall structure where the Guardians have been imprisoned. Visitors become part of an elaborate plan devised by Rocket to escape the massive building, which shimmers with hues of blue and gold.
"Guardians of the Galaxy - Mission: BREAKOUT! brings an all-new epic adventure to the Disneyland Resort, and it's the only Disney park in the universe where guests can step into a Guardians of the Galaxy story," Walt Disney Parks and Resorts chairman Bob Chapek said in a statement.
"Like the smash-hit films that inspired it, this new attraction is action-packed, full of irreverent humor, and features an 'awesome mix tape.' It's a fantastic way for guests to experience the Super Hero universe like never before."

Once in the lobby of the building, people will be treated to the artifacts and living creatures The Collector has obtained and put on display. Visitors then walk into The Collector's Office, where Rocket appears and lets everyone know how they can help free the Guardians by using the hijacked gantry lift to the top of the fortress.
After entering the gantry lift, guests will be shot up to the fortress and plummet downward as Rocket attempts to take control of the situation.
Using new-and-improved technology, passengers will be thrilled by the high-speed ride as each up-and-down experience profile is accompanied by a different song.
Disneyland is also celebrating the Summer of Heroes, which begins on May 27. Superheroes and characters from Guardians of the Galaxy will appear at Disney California Adventure throughout the year.
