Folks who still have their Christmas lights on the house can rejoice, because Christmas will come extremely early in 2016 as Branson, Missouri, celebrates the Tenth Anniversary of the original Discover Santa, which took place in 2006.
This summer, the mercury will once again skyrocket; air conditioners will be used throughout the nation and the perfect moment for Santa Claus and hundreds of his closest pals to convene will ensue.
If you were wondering what Santa and Mrs. Claus do during the summer months, it seems the answer is descending upon a convention filled with people dressed up as jolly ol’ St. Nicks.
Via a press release, National Santa Tim Connaghan, expounded on the possibilities, “There has never been a group of Santas this large meeting anywhere in the world.”
So what is Discover Santa 2016? Well, it’s only the most comprehensive Santa experience, complete with various events and hundreds of Santas milling about swapping stories on various gift-giving difficulties and reindeer maladies, we imagine.
As noted, this Branson bash will welcome a whopping 1,000 Santa participants who will come from all corners of the globe. Oddly, the North Pole was missing from the location breakdown.
The event takes place from July 6-10 – precisely the time of year when you want to dress up in a giant red suit and walk around in the Missouri heat.
Speaking of which, the celebration will feature a Parade of Red Suits that is precisely what it sounds like.
Here is a video that highlights the inaugural festivities as well as the impetus behind the soiree. Basically, it’s a way to get likeminded Santas together for one heck of a merry time.
This year’s Santa slam will also feature a Sno-lympics competition, fashion show, workshops and more.
It’s like you died and went to Santa heaven. The only downside is the realization that you are out in Branson and there is nobody back at home watching the elves.
If this sounds like your kind of party, then you are probably the kind of omnipotent holiday hero who knows the details.
If not, you can register at the above website – although as of this writing the registration page wasn’t working.
Still, you have over 100 days to get your tickets to a Santa shindig that will put all others to shame.
