Los Angeles, a place already distinguished by so many In-N-Out locations, is getting a Shake Shack in West Hollywood. We will pause momentarily for a general freak out from the local population.
Following openings in Chicago and Las Vegas, the purveyor of deliciously addictive burgers will set up shop in an LA-area location in 2016.
NBC News delivers a springtime gift to foodies all over the nation, stating that the popular burger haven will continue to grow: “The company has said it plans to open at least 10 new domestic company-operated Shacks each year, starting in the current fiscal year. Long term, it sees the potential to grow its current domestic company-operated Shack footprint to at least 450 locations.”
As the report notes, there are 36 locations across the greater U.S., which breaks down to “31 domestic company-operated and five domestic licensed Shacks in 10 states and Washington, D.C.”
Eater’s Farley Elliott delivers the details as to where the company plans to place the exact location: “The West Hollywood address is listed as 8520 Santa Monica Boulevard, a freestanding building on the southeast corner of Santa Monica and West Knoll Drive, a block west of La Cienega.”
For the uninitiated, here is a brief documentary on the booming burger and milkshake company:
Now the locals can take the burger challenge, pitting fresh In-N-Out Double-Doubles against the ShackBurger, stacking a Neapolitan shake against a concrete. Heck, now Angelenos can debate the finer points of crinkle-cut versus well-done fries.
The winner, clearly, are the people who will undoubtedly line up for these delicious treats.
Although we have an idea where Anthony Bourdain’s heart might rest:
In any case, California is now on the Shake Shack map, which means you can get one of the nation’s best burgers from coast to coast.
We leave it to you to debate the better burger chain. All we know is we are going to need to go up a belt size thanks to this news.
