A faction of force-sensitive Jedi seems to be collecting in Singapore, taking on all the evil and ill of this world and dealing with it in a calm manner and with vigilant lightsaber training.

Then again, the following video may just feature a few fans who are selling lightsaber toys as they battle one another for sport and exercise. In any case, Sith Lords are advised to keep a safe distance.

What we have here is The Saber Authority, and they are featured in a recent Straits Times article written by Lee Jian Xuan.

Essentially, they make that yoga group you hang with on Sundays look like a bunch of chumps-a bunch of chumps who couldn't handle a blaster rifle much less an elegant weapon designed for a more civilized age:

First off, we want one. There isn't any amount of cool points we might be deducted that would negate our desire to own a lightsaber that comes in various colors, including Mace Windu purple.

Second, we simply have to applaud the creativity that peppers in a whole bunch of fun with exercise, even if that exercise mandates the scantest amount of heavy breathing.

Xuan explains when you might find this rogue squad of Jedi Knights: "For an hour every Saturday evening, a patch of ground below the train tracks running between Bishan and Ang Mo Kio MRT stations transforms into a battleground of epic proportions."

The group has a YouTube channel that is filled with demonstrations of its lightsaber products, like the following that serves as a demonstration of the greatest weapon pop culture ever imagined:

And here is a hype video of sorts, illustrating the finer points of being a dual-wielding beast:

You can get more information on The Saber Authority at its website and Facebook page, including pricing.

According to the website, lightsabers are listed in Singapore currency. So it seems that a basic blade will run you a little over $290. You could also just show up and have a blade provided. A one-month pass (four sessions) is $80 or about $64.

Now normally a Jedi is without need, especially that of money or material goods. However, we aren't on Dagobah here. You don't just barge in and demand lessons.

This kind of high art costs money, and if you try to skimp you will find yourself encased in carbonite like some scruffy-looking nerf herder.
