In a two-minute, 37-second skit that starts out with little but ends with a bang, host Jimmy Fallon and the Saturday Night Live cast manage to brilliantly troll both United Airlines and Pepsi-Cola for its botched incidents last week.
United, as you well know, forcibly removed a man from a plane, dragging him down the aisle.
Pepsi, with Kendall Jenner as a featured spokesperson, put out a tone-deaf commercial in which Jenner runs off from a photo shoot to join the protest, with Pepsi in hand. She then hands the Pepsi can to a police officer in what was supposed to be a symbolic moment of peace. The 30-second spot completely missed the mark as social media blasted Pepsi to the point where the beverage maker pulled the ad.
In the SNL skit, Fallon plays a lovelorn guy who shows at his girlfriend’s apartment while she is there with another man. Fallon begs her to take him back while crooning a hokey tune (including backup singers), before the girlfriend drops the bomb on him and brings him back to reality for what he did.
After Fallon leaves, however, her new boyfriend has a confession for her.
