Social Media Spotlight: Hawkeye Huey Is A 6-Year-Old Photography Prodigy

The apple doesn’t fall far from the tree, which is great because now that apple has a great vantage to take some stellar photographs.

This week we were taken with the budding photographic journey of a six-year-old who is ages ahead of us in capturing a beautiful moment.

We are referring to Hawkeye Huey, who is getting a bit of help from dear ol’ dad, Aaron Huey, who is himself a photographer by trade with National Geographic.

A tip of the hat to Business Insider for spotting what is now a full spotlight for the younger Huey in National Geographic Traveler.

The article is a fantastic introduction to a family that adores traversing America’s western region.

But it also highlights some adorable work. Aaron Huey writes: “In his fourth year I bought him a camera like the ones I had in my youth, where real photos pop out and develop in your hand—physical reminders of that moment in time, not images swiped on a screen.”

It’s those hard copies that Huey shares on his son’s Instagram account. Here are just a few that caught our eye.

And here is the tandem hard at work:

One of the beautiful aspects of photography is the ability to appreciate the artist’s perspective.

It’s true if you are 60 or if you are merely six.

We look forward to seeing so much more from Hawkeye Huey, who has an eye for brilliant travel photos.
