OK, who ordered the extremely tiny jet engine?
Digg spotted a brief video that illustrates how intricate you can get when you have the time and a 3D printer.
Posted to YouTube by user Punk Rocker, the following video shows a working engine that whizzes back and forth by the end of the video, instantly giving us our No. 1 item on this year’s Christmas list.
Forget drones, because we have a hankering for jet propulsion gadgetry.
Now sit back and imagine how far you can get that nifty paper airplane creation of yours if you had a couple of these babies on either side of that masterpiece:
The YouTube channel explains the particulars: “Printed in a Prusa i3 3D printer with ABS Plastic, 0.3mm nozzle 0.1mm layer height.”
And here is are life-sized 787 jet engines in action:
Those with a 3D printer and working knowledge of jet propulsion will get a kick out of the various specifications listed on the channel.
For the rest of us, we are left with daydreams of sending our skateboard around the living room as the cat sits up front.
We recommend not putting any wings on that bad boy or you might not get it back.
