The Sydney Opera House is trying on the latest in the season’s fashion, which just so happens to include a near endless palette from over 20 studios.

Laughing Squid spotted the following vibrant video lurking over on Vimeo, and it features an iconic landmark festooned with a bevy of splashy colors and captivating animations.

Now the video itself is 15 minutes long, but it’s so easy to lose time as you watch the Sydney Opera House seemingly dance amid an explosion of color and sound.

Thanks to Universal Everything, we can appreciate a modicum of Vivid Sydney from the other side of this brilliant planet:

The video highlights a portion of the Vivid Sydney event that is taking over the area from May 22 to June 8, which includes various lights shows along with celebrations of music and creativity.

What you see above is what the event refers to as ‘Lighting the Sail,’ which we might add is a fairly appropriate title.

The light show takes place from 6:00 p.m. to midnight local time and is free. The website explains: “This year multi-disciplinary design collective, Universal Everything, has been chosen to create a projected artwork for the sails of the Sydney Opera House.”

Over on Vimeo, Universal Everything explains the show a bit further: “A global animation project by Universal Everything, collaborating with over 20 different animation studios worldwide to create a living mural on one of the world’s most iconic buildings.”

Making such a landmark shine in such a splendid manner is no small feat, but Universal Everything accomplishes that with one jaw-dropping show.

Now this is just one part of an event that it taking over the city. So if you are in the area, don’t miss out on the magic that surrounds nearly every corner of Sydney.
