Take a Trip Through History's 12 Most Famous Journeys

We are all impressed by your 12-hour flight to another country. And we are sure that it’s exhausting and arduous, but it has nothing compared to these following global jaunts.

Travel website Just The Flight pored over some of history’s more impressive journeys and displayed some of the more memorable in a beautiful infographic.

Sadly, your business trip to Tokyo didn’t make the cut.

What we do have are items such as Ferdinand Magellan’s circumnavigation of the globe, David Livingstone’s tour of Africa and American astronauts’ layover on the moon.

While hardly exhaustive, the following is a wonderful snapshot of how far we humans are willing to go when struck with unrelenting curiosity.

Good may not always come from each journey; some have even been ill fated for the pioneer who set out on the respective adventure.   

Still, we will continue to move forward, seeking out new, uncharted locations.

We wonder how a similar infographic might look a century from now.
