Months of posturing, politicking, and polling have led to what are appropriately referred to as "sandwich face selfies."
We warn you that they are silly.
But first, a bit of an explanation, especially if you see someone at the pub making a silly face with their menu item while you bump around the greater United Kingdom this week.
Mashable’s Tim Chester explains the impetus behind the now rampant #JeSuisEd hashtag campaign: “The Sun, seemingly bereft of fresh ideas since May 2014, took an old photo of Ed Miliband eating a sandwich, which has been talked about during the election, for their front page.”
You can see the image at The Guardian, which also reports The Sun has been rather vociferous with its criticism.
Although The Sun has done so recently with a harsh turn. The report states: “On Wednesday, the tabloid uses almost half of its front page to show Ed Miliband looking as though he is having a heart attack while eating a bacon sandwich.”
But the people have spoken, or rather taken photos of their own food failures. Here are just a few spotted around the transom of the Internet:
If you happen to take your news sans sandwich faces, then The Telegraph has a close race covered with various polls.
However, nothing beats the onslaught of ridiculous tweets as a proper political news source.
Those of you who happen to see people playing with their food this week, now know they are simply making a statement with a rather messy show of support.
