The waterproof TapuTapu wearable will optimize guest experiences for those enjoying the new Volcano Bay water park opening May 25 at Universal Orlando Resort.
TapuTapu will be included in admission to the waterpark and will allow guests to avoid long lines by sending an alert through the wearable.
This technological upgrade will allow them to enjoy other attractions while virtually waiting in line.
The wearable technology also allows guests to enjoy exclusive TapTu Play experiences throughout the park, including special effects in Tot Tiki Reef, shooting water cannons at other visitors snaking down Kopiko Wai Winding River, and illuminating images in the volcano's hidden caves.
Universal officials announced Wednesday that there will be several additional features, including access to interactive photo opportunities and selfie-spots throughout the park; lockers that open using the TapuTapu technology; and the ability to make purchases with the wearable, eliminating the need for cash, credit cards or a wallet.
The technology was specifically designed for use at Volcano Bay.

Visitors to the park can take advantage of TapuTapu's benefits by creating an account using the Official Universal Orlando Resort app or at Universal Orlando's website.
In addition to the wearable innovations, Universal Studios has added a virtual line system to the Race Through New York Starring Jimmy Fallon attraction and has eliminated the need for physical tickets by allowing the redemption of all tickets via the Official Universal Orlando Resort app.
