Calling all Professor McGonagall chaperones and adorably clueless Ron Weasley types - Universal Orlando may be throwing an actual Harry Potter-themed Yule Ball.
Here's to hoping that you aren't stuck with any hand-me-down dress robes.
This is the latest scuttlebutt from the Orlando Informer (h/t Nerdist) that reports the theme park is testing the waters for a more immersive Harry Potter experience for the holidays.
According to the report, various guests received a survey with a bevy of possibilities, gauging interest level from patrons.
Among the most noteworthy was chatter of a Yule Ball, such as the one featured in the movie "Harry Potter and The Goblet of Fire," based on the book by J.K Rowling of the same name.
The report states, raising the interest level of muggles and wizards worldwide, "A large portion of the survey was devoted to the idea of a separately ticketed Wizarding World of Harry Potter Holiday Party, perhaps aiming to compete with Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party right down the street."
Thankfully, this wouldn't mandate entering in any harrowing Triwizard Tournament; we don't think.
The report includes a treasure trove of hypothetical offerings. Again, this comes by way of a survey with no official word coming of features that will actually be included at any park locations.
However, this tidbit seems particularly intriguing: "Yule Ball and Great Dance Hall Dinner - 'guests wear dress robes and dine/dance at a festive holiday Yule Ball with themed music, dancing, food and beverages' (separately ticketed event)."
Imagine getting gussied up with your respective Viktor Krums or Cho Changs and heading on out to festivities that would light up the heart and spark the spirit.
It's the perfect holiday event that we would imagine would sell out quicker than you can spin a Time Turner.
