Upvotes for everybody.

This week we discovered that the observation arms race reached a critical level with Dubai creating something that will strike fear in the heart of most tourists.

But from the top of the world to the depths of the sea, we found a lot to love about Ponant’s swanky new yachts.

But first, we start with some rumors floating around a well-known brand.

Google Gossip:

Sneaky Google may be working on an app called Trips that would have Gmail work for you, providing travel details to the technology that in turn offers more information on your upcoming trip.

Upvote: This is still in the rumor phase, so we don’t know a great deal about the potential app. That said, we are giddy to find out what the people behind Destinations might have in store for us.

Ponant Pizzazz:

Ponant recently unveiled its complement of lavish new yachts. However, we really gravitated to the rare amenity that is an underwater lounge.

Upvote: Yes, being rich enough to have a yacht sail you around the world is nice and all. But enjoying cocktails underwater as you watch marine life carry on around you is the ultimate brag card.

Turtle Power:

This one goes out to all the kids – as well as the adults who just can’t part with their Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles bed sheets.

New York City will welcome the superheroes as official family ambassadors over the coming year.

Upvote: We can’t think of better tour guides than a group of teenagers who understand the inner workings of a well-made pizza as well as the New York sewer system.

We DARE You:

Dubai will soon welcome a group of towers known as AYKON City. The tallest of which will feature an observation deck on steroids.

Upvote: For those that are far too timid to actually BASE jump or skydive officials around the world are working hard to make sure you get as much adrenaline out of life as possible.

Maybe it’s just us, but we don’t need to ever have a view that mandates being strapped in.
