The TSA is still terrible.

However, this week showed us the strange, new depths that the organization could plummet.

Thankfully, the newest TSA gaffe is a rather comedic one, so feel free to chuckle away at how horribly it manages its own money.

And there are other things to captivate this week as well, such as a Harry Potter Hollywood sighting, a magical slide that appears from nowhere and cars that don’t need drivers to maneuver.

Well, Those Slides Work:

Earlier this week a flight attendant working for United Airlines, Julia Price, popped the emergency slide and took a ride towards Unemployment-ville.

So far there is no word on the reason behind the odd scenario that played out in Houston.

Downvote: While we have no clue what set Price off, we do have to say this has to be one of the more elaborate, expensive and ridiculous ways to leave your job.

It also may just suggest that we passengers are a bit more frustrating to deal with than we had previously considered.

Self-Driving Public Transportation:

A team from MIT is inching toward its goal of setting the world ablaze in its brilliance – unveiling its fleet of driverless taxicabs in Singapore.

Upvote: The promise of taxi service devoid of peculiar route decisions and banal small talk is here, and it smells so unbelievably sweet.

So Random:

Depending on what report you read, the TSA spent $336,000 or $1.4 million on an app that randomizes a right or left arrow.

In any case, the exact numbers rests at exactly far-too-freaking much for such a simple bit of technology.

Downvote: The TSA is now just trolling us, right? This is the same organization that fails to find contraband at an absurd rate and continues to be the bane of every traveler’s existence.

Now it’s proving it can’t even be trusted with its own money. We do have an idea for a $100,000 app that will demand passengers take their shoes and belt off arbitrarily, so call us if you still have any money, TSA.

Hollywood Harry:

As TravelPulse’s Donald Wood reports, there is now officially more Harry Potter in the world as the The Wizarding World of Harry Potter opens at Universal Studios Hollywood.

Upvote: The world will not be complete until there is one of these open on every street corner. Support us in the Starbucks-ification of Harry Potter.
