This isn’t an amusement park ride — it’s a dive into the actual world of Harry Potter.
Not to be confused with Universal’s “Hogwarts Express,” the Jacobite Steam Train in Edinburgh, Scotland is the literal, actual and factual train featured in the Harry Potter movies when prospective and current wizards hop aboard Platform 9 ¾ at King’s Crossing.
It isn’t just the train that is the same (Carriage D is where one wants to sit for the full Potter experience), the trip is the exact same trip as well and passes across the 21 arches of the Glenfinnan viaduct and winds through the Scottish Highlands and countryside.
See the trip for yourself here, via INSIDER’s YouTube page:
For non-Harry Potter fans—assuming there’s still a few of you out there—the trip isn’t just a pilgrimage for wishful wizards, it’s a stream train ride through some of the lushest and most beautiful scenery on the planet.
