World's First Star Trek Roller Coaster Being Built in Germany

Star Trek enthusiasts, rejoice! Fans of the science fiction-themed television series and movies will be happy to hear that the world's first Star Trek-themed roller coaster is being built at a German amusement park.

According to, the Movie Park theme park in Bottrop, Germany, has started the construction process on a Star Trek-themed roller coaster dubbed “Star Trek: Operation Enterprise,” which is scheduled to open to the public in 2017.

The roller coaster will be located near the entrance of Movie Park Germany, and will be built as a launch coaster by German manufacturer Mack Rides. The ride is expected to use common color schemes and visuals from the Star Trek brand, just as the theme park has with its other attractions.

The new roller coaster is expected to open around the same time the upcoming Star Trek television series debuts in early 2017. The official YouTube page of Movie Park Germany shared a time-lapse video of the early construction phases of the ride:
