4 Fall Getaways for A Guys' Weekend

Ah, the kids are back in school, the hot weather is starting to break and you finally have a family-free moment to yourself. Its fall, and it is the perfect time to get the guys together and have a little bonding/family-escaping time all to yourselves. Here are a few suggestions to help get your brain in the dream-building mode that guys' weekends away are made of.

The Anything Goes Getaway: Las Vegas

I know; we're getting the obvious choice out of the way first. But there is a primary reason why a ton of groups go to Vegas: fun. Las Vegas allows you to really escape your daily grind and let go. If you want to fire off machine guns, you can do it. If pinball is more your thing; the Pinball Hall of Fame is yours for the taking. Maybe you want to drive an Indycar, a muscle car or NASCAR race car. You can do all of that and more with Drive Vegas

And with the weather cooling down out there, it is the perfect time of the year to get some golf, hiking or boating in before it gets too cold. Don’t forget while you are there to place your bets for the games of the week.

The Up All Night Getaway: New Orleans

Bourbon Street with the boys sure sounds like a lot of fun, but there is a lot more to experience in the Crescent City. Make your way into the Garden District, eat your way through the French Quarter, take a paddle boat or swamp boat tour, and check out Mardi Gras World all before dinner. Then hit the casino and take in some New Orleans Jazz until the wee hours.

The Golf Getaway: Myrtle Beach

If golfing is your thing, then Myrtle Beach is the place to be. With more than 100 courses within an hour and a half drive, you can’t go wrong. There is a great range of courses so if you want to go on the cheaper side for a couple of days and then spend a little more for the last day; you have a variety of price points to choose from.

Although there is technically an off-season for Myrtle Beach, there are still a ton of places that stay open year round including activities, restaurants and nightlife.

The Spear Fishing Getaway: Dive Duck Key

There are dozens of places from the Mexican Riviera to the Caribbean to fish. Belize and especially Guatemala are well known at the Billfishing capital of the world. If you really want to go crazy, get down to the Florida Keys and do some spear fishing at Dive Duck Key. Obviously with all of those places, you have the added benefit of beautiful beaches, cheap drinks and great amenities and restaurants.
