While it's hard to go wrong when choosing a craft brew in Houston, there are a handful of liquid creations worth going a little bit out of your way for.
Rocket Fuel

Where: 8th Wonder Brewery
A collaboration with Houston's Greenway Coffee Co., 8th Wonder Brewery's Rocket Fuel Vietnamese coffee porter is the perfect balance between coffee and beer. Infused with cold brew coffee and milk sugar, this brew is sweet, but not too sweet. At just 4.6 percent alcohol by volume (ABV), you can easily enjoy more than one.
The taproom at 8th Wonder opens at 11 a.m. every day of the week, so you'll have plenty of time to indulge. If Rocket Fuel isn't your thing, other elite year-round offerings here include Hopston IPA and Dome Faux'm cream ale.
5 O'Clock Pils

Where: Saint Arnold Brewing Company
Saint Arnold Brewing Company set out to create a simple beer that can be enjoyed regardless of the time of year. Relying on pils malt and a ton of Saaz hops, 5 O'Clock Pils is a light brew that you can enjoy in sessions.

If you're in Houston for Super Sunday, stop by Saint Arnold's for their three-hour Super Beef Sunday celebration where BBQ legends will be serving up delicious smoked meats to pair with your 5 O'Clock Pils.
Buried Hatchet Stout

Where: Southern Star Brewing Company
A few miles north of Houston is where you'll find Conroe, Texas, home to Southern Star Brewing Company and one of the best stouts in the Lone Star State. At a whopping 9 percent ABV, Buried Hatchet Stout is meant to be sipped and enjoyed. But sipping will be tough since this smooth brew's coffee and chocolate aroma is complemented by a creamy toffee taste.

Unfortunately, the taproom at Southern Star is closed on Super Bowl Sunday, but you can still take advantage Friday and Saturday with a tour, tasting and more.
Great White Buffalo

Open just two days a week on Friday and Saturday, Houston's Buffalo Bayou Brewing Company is worth a weekend visit. There's no shortage of one-of-a-kind beers here, but don't leave without sampling the Great White Buffalo. This Belgian-style witbier is brewed with orange peels and coriander and is ideal for a hot day.
At just 5.8 percent ABV, this beer is sessionable, making it the perfect go-to for an extended happy hour.
