6 Reasons To Dive Into Luxury At Mexico's Hilton Los Cabos

Upon entering the lavish Hilton Los Cabos, you will ponder what you did to deserve such beauty.
All vacations come with a tinge of guilt to be sure — thoughts of checking email come as regularly as making sure you know where your passport is.
There is something equally endearing and extravagant about this resort. It’s immensely beautiful but undeniably inviting, which is a sentiment understood the minute you step out and are greeted by an expansive open-air lobby.
I had the pleasure of visiting Hilton Los Cabos and meeting with its various staff for what was a one-year reunion of team members and guests who were present during the devastating Hurricane Odile, which struck the resort in 2014.
Here is a video that touches upon that remarkable time quite nicely:
That harrowing and heartwarming story was covered in a previous article. However, here I would like to give you a sense of what you might expect tangibly from your holiday in Los Cabos.
There are countless reasons to consider this resort for your next holiday, Here are just a few that come to mind as I recall a fantastic week in Mexico.
To Infinity and Beyond:
The hotel boasts two pools, one of which offers the illusion that the entire ocean is yours for the taking.
Thankfully, the one thing that is not illusory is the feeling you have when you melt into the crisp, refreshing water that sits out in front of the white palace that is your home for the duration of your weekend.
The above is just a taste of the comfort that greets you the second you drop the luggage off at the room.
The layout of bathroom, bed and balcony leads you on a visual journey that ends with the expanse of the bright blue water below.
Immediately you ponder the possibilities of your stay.
For those who have the means and desire for added luxury, Hilton Los Cabos also offers La Vista Club Lounge & Suites, described in the press release as: “serving continental breakfast and afternoon hors d'oeuvres daily, and 65 superior, club-level suites with spacious interiors, extended balconies, marble baths and unique, members-only amenities.”
While still in construction during my own September stay, the lounge is essentially your own secret hideaway complete with added amenities for those with luxury in mind.
We travel with our stomachs — although we are willing to sacrifice a bit of quality when our main goal is to tan by the pool for a week.
Thankfully, Hilton Los Cabos flips that script, because the food is extremely well done.
I had the pleasure of eating breakfasts at the “farm-to-fork” El Meson, which offered buffet accommodation with an omelet station, fresh pastries, various breakfast regulars and a juice station.
I also enjoyed a burger with a view at Madero:
The burger was actually memorable. My incredulity comes from so many hotels and resorts around the world phoning in such a simple dish. Well, that isn’t the case here, where a simple lunch was made all the more remarkable with a view of the beach below and the juicy burger being stuffed into my greedy maw.
Oh, and the area is replete with local restaurants that demand your attention as well. I reviewed two of such locations with an article on El Matador as well as an upcoming review of Flora’s Field Kitchen.
On my final night I sampled items from what was at the time a soon-to-be-opened Vela, a posh experience with undeniably exquisite fare.
I still smile when I think of the thick cut of sea bass that won the night, which means I think of my stay and in turn smile a little bit bigger.
Let’s say you are the type who tires easily of pool serenity. No, you need to swim in the wake of unrelenting saltwater.
As the Hilton Los Cabos reminds, the hotel also offers “one of the region’s only swimmable beaches.”
So Much Room For Activities:
Not that you should take my advice, but a vacation is best enjoyed with a beer in one hand, some nachos in the other as you recline underneath the sun.
However, for you go-getters in the audience, Hilton Los Cabos has an expansive gym with everything you need to get in a calorie-burning workout.
But there is so much more, including a relaxing spa that was in the midst of being completed in September.
If that weren’t enough, you can also enjoy a list of the following: “two lit tennis courts, two pools with swim-up bars, a Jacuzzi and a pool concierge available to provide iPods, books, games and fun treats.”
I wrote a great deal about this in my previous article, but it bears repeating here. Hilton Los Cabos employs some fine human beings who enjoy what they do.
That excitement is apparent every time you pass a team member in the halls, making an already enjoyable experience unforgettable.
Now there is a nearby golf course and a ton of amenities for the kids to enjoy. But the above is what I had the chance to really sink my teeth into and enjoy, sometimes in a literal sense.
I came away with a deep appreciation for the region and this hotel in particular. It’s not often that you find a place where the warmth extends beyond time at the pool. No, it follows you to the restaurants, hallways and into your room, where unbelievable care and attention seems to be ubiquitous.
