International travel doesn't have to break the bank this summer.

The U.S. dollar is strong and Americans are poised to get significant bang for their buck while traveling abroad. The key will be visiting a destination where their money will go further.

With plenty of time left to book, TripAdvisor Vacation Rentals has wrangled up eight of the best destinations based on the level of increase in value of the U.S. dollar in local currency since June 2015.

South Africa, Mexico and Uruguay lead the way with the value of the dollar increasing 24 percent, 21 percent and 15 percent between June 29, 2015 and June 28, 2016, respectively.

For instance, in Punta del Este, Uruguay, a two-person private guest house with a pool is available on TripAdvisor Vacation Rentals for just $129 per night.

But great deals are also waiting in hotspots like Cape Town, South Africa and Riviera Maya, Mexico.

While the percentage change in the value of the U.S. dollar over the past year hasn't been nearly as drastic, Brazil, Canada, Australia and Thailand offer Americans tremendous value this summer, with the U.S. dollar's strength increasing anywhere between 4 and 7 percent since last summer.

On the Thai island of Phuket, for example, travelers can book a villa boasting a view of the ocean, a pool and a private chef for as little as $49 per person per night.

Finally, Greece is a value hotspot for U.S. travelers this summer, with the U.S. dollar's value increasing by 1 percent since early last summer.

Regardless of the destination, though, those traveling with family and friends are poised to save even more since they'll be able to split up the costs. Doing so will allow some groups to afford lavish accommodations that may have otherwise destroyed their budget.
