A4A Applauds Prohibition of Use of Taxpayer Dollars for Foreign Security

Features & Advice | Airlines for America | David Cogswell | June 06, 2013

Airlines for America (A4A), the industry trade organization for U.S. airlines, applauded the House passage on June 5 of an amendment sponsored by Congressional representatives Pat Meehan (R-PA), Candice Miller (R-MI) and Peter DeFazio (D-OR), which prohibits the use of taxpayer dollars toward financing a security pre-clearance operation at Abu Dhabi International Airport.

The amendment was a reaction to the Department of Homeland Security’s (DHS) decision to establish a preclearance facility at Abu Dhabi International Airport.
