Airlines for America (A4A) has named Rep. Sean Williams its new vice president, State and Local Government Affairs. Williams is currently serving his sixth term as a member of the Connecticut House of Representatives. A member of the Connecticut State Bond Commission, Williams is also currently serving as the Assistant Republican Leader and Ranking Member of the Finance Committee.
A4A says Williams will lead the State and Local Government Affairs team and play a central role in the organization’s effort to gain state-level support for a comprehensive National Airline Policy for passengers, employees, businesses and local communities.
“Sean is widely regarded as a skilled legislator and leader,” said A4A president and CEO Nicholas E. Calio. “His proven ability to navigate complex policy issues and build grassroots coalitions at the state and local level will be a tremendous asset to U.S. airlines as we continue our push for a National Airline Policy.”
Williams said upon his appointment that he was looking forward to highlighting “the value of the U.S. airline industry and the need for tax, regulatory and infrastructure improvements that would enable airlines to be sustainably profitable.”
