Figuring out the details of a honeymoon is one of the better and more fun tasks of wedding planning, but when you get into the nitty gritty of booking, it can become cumbersome. Making sure you have good seats on the airplane, the right suite at the hotel and even choosing the best dates and locale can become stressful.
One of the best ways to avoid this stress is to use a travel agent who can take care of all of these mundane details for you and make some great recommendations as to where to go.
However, it pays to be informed whether you use an agent or not. U.S. News and World Reports writer Liz Weiss offers up these guidelines for planning and booking the perfect honeymoon and the mistakes to avoid along the way.
One of the biggest takeaways from her advice: Don’t delay your planning.
“A top misstep among couples is procrastinating,” she writes. “According to Katie James, associate features editor at Brides, it's smart to start planning six to eight months in advance.”
