Slovakian design firm Nice Architects has come up with a way to have their cake and eat it, too. If you are looking for a way to live out amongst nature and under the stars but need running water, a hot meal and a warm bed, take a look at Ecocapsule.

Each one of these little eggs are powered by 2.6m2 of solar panels and a 750w retractable wind turbine giving a pair of people enough energy to last almost a whole year off the grid. They are built to capture rainwater and have a filtration system so that you can drink it. There is a kitchenette, toilet/shower, work/dining area and two storage areas as well.

The capsule fits into an ordinary shipping container or can be pulled on a flatbed trailer. The website even claims it can be pulled by pack animal. The gross weight is about 3,300 pounds. They are also in the development stage of a chassis for the unit to serve as a camper.

Orders are going to start to be taken at the end of 2015 with delivery planned for the first half of 2016. Interested in seeing one in person? They just recently debuted at the Pioneers festival in Vienna but get ready because they will be at EXPO 2015 (the world’s fair) this summer in Milan.
