When you are planning a ski vacation, finding the right resort is key. Is ski-in/ski-out lodging a must? Do you need a kitchen so that you can cook for yourself instead of eating out? Are you in a group and need multi-family accommodations and a variety of terrain for everyone’s varying levels? Are you looking for killer instructors or an award-winning ski school? The list of requirements could go on and on.
If I am going somewhere, I want childcare and a good ski school for kids, spacious accommodation and I want to have access to a variety of restaurants. Instead of spending hours researching resorts that meet these factors, Ski.com makes comparing a variety of factors easy.
The website recently launched its Resort Finder, a new online tool that enables travelers to match themselves based on their interests with the resorts that are best suited for them. Powered by the expertise of Ski.com’s 65 Mountain Vacation Specialists who average 26 years of firsthand mountain-travel experience, the Ski.com Resort Finder uses a proprietary algorithm to produce personalized resort recommendations.
“Ski resorts have unique personalities and offer different experiences, and travelers trying to determine which resort to visit often become confused and frustrated,” said Dan Sherman, Ski.com vice president of marketing. “The Ski.com Resort Finder is an easy and accurate way for travelers to leverage our Mountain Vacation Specialists’ knowledge to find the resorts best suited to them.”
The Resort Finder makes it so that users are able to select up to five interests from more than a dozen options that include family, budget, terrain types, ski-in/ski-out lodging options, airport proximity, dining, shopping, nightlife and more.
After they select the country, the region or the state that they would like to visit during the trip, the resort finder can calculate and display the top resort that matches the most criteria and up to four other recommended resorts.
Ski.com has a wide range of options when it comes to where you can book through the site. It specializes in booking custom ski vacations at more than 120 of the most popular ski resorts and heli- and cat-skiing destinations in North America, Europe and South America and offers one of the largest collections of mountain lodging and ski-vacation components, including discounted lift tickets, flights, equipment rental, ski school, activities and more.
