The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge have arrived in India for their tour of the country, CNN reported.
The royal couple has been busy playing Cricket, spending time with local children and paying their respects to the victims of the Mumbai terror attacks, CNN said.
Prince William and Kate Middleton began their tour of India by playing Cricket with famous Indian cricketer Sachin Tendulkar on Sunday in a Mumbai park, according to CNN.
The couple also paid their respects to the victims of the Mumbai terror attacks by laying a wreath at the Taj Mahal Palace Hotel, where dozens of people were killed in a terrorist attack in November 2008, CNN said.
As they arrived to Mumbai, the duke and duchess were given the news about Sunday’s devastating temple fire in southern India that authorities said killed 98 people and wounded more than 540, according to CNN.
A spokesman for Kensington Palace told CNN that the royal couple was "saddened by the news and send their thoughts to all who are assisting the victims."
The couple will now travel to New Delhi, the capital of India, according to CNN. Also on their itinerary are visits to Kaziranga National Park, the Himalayan kingdom of Bhutan and the Taj Mahal, where the prince’s mother was once photographed sitting on a bench.
