It may seem like an oxymoron - packing more to bring less - but there are a few accessories you are going to want to pack to keep luggage light and lean when flying these days. There are so many rules to follow about size, weight and how many bags you can put on the airplane and the Points Guy has a few tips on items that will keep you in compliance in the air without overstuffing your bags.
First, make sure you have a portable scale.
"Having overweight baggage is a surefire way to add unnecessary expenses to your trip, and attempting to weigh a large duffle bag on a floor scale can be tricky," writes Clare Lanaux.
A laundry kit can also keep your bag light.
"Traveling for long periods of time without showers or washing machines can lead to dirty, wrinkled and sometimes unpleasant smelling clothing," says Lanaux, who recommends The Laundress kit from Shopbop.
Packing a laundry bag can also make things easier when stopping to wash clothes and keeps clean clothes from attracting unpleasant odors.

Something else to have on hand - a battery pack for small electronic devices.
"Perfect for flights and airports that don't have charging stations, this little guy will make sure you never drop below 20 percent again," says Lanaux, who recommends the Anker Astro on Amazon.
