Fire up the party wagon, get a designated driver and prepare to traverse the nation for the oldest and possibly coolest bars around. Travel website Trippy compiled a summer’s worth of work for anyone with a hankering for the comforts of America’s finest pubs and bars.

The website scoured TripAdvisor and selected 196 bars that have a historic significance as some of the oldest bars in the nation. The following image highlights the various stops you can make if you ever want to tour the country and taste test its cities as well.

The website offers an interactive version, which allows you to scour the country and zoom in to find bars in your vicinity you might immediately frequent.

Trippy discovered some interesting things, such as California boasting the healthiest complement of worthy establishments with 29.

The Old Ship Saloon gets a hat tip for its history, which also includes the fact that the Arkansas, a ship that met its demise in 1849, supplies much of the wood inside.

And if you want to keep the party going, it’s best to move the party bus to New Orleans, New York City, Chicago or Key West – the cities that keep tabs open until three in the morning or later.

We suggest throwing a virtual dart at the map and picking out a city in which to unwind. From there, it’s a mere Uber jaunt around town to some local haunts you will never forget.

Unless you drink too much, obviously.
