With the holiday shopping season in full swing, travAlliancemedia president and CEO Mark Murphy made another timely appearance on CBS News Wednesday to reveal some of his top travel gift ideas.
Despite what many may think, the gift of travel doesn't have to break the bank.
"Less than half of the country has a passport. So if you want to encourage someone to travel, why don't you give them money to go buy a passport," said Murphy. "Today, if you want to go anywhere outside of the country, you need to have that."
A passport, which undoubtedly opens up a traveler's destination options, will only cost you about $100. Another inexpensive option for frequent travelers, Murphy explains, is giving their hard-earned reward points to a friend or family member.
"It's very easy. If they have an account, you can transfer those miles over to their account," said Murphy.
Gift cards, Murphy points out, are another perfect gift for the traveler in your life.
