WATCH: Mark Murphy Talks Best Travel Getaways For Dads

Yes, we can give the Dads in our life a gift card or a dozen golf balls, but if you're really looking to score points and jump to the top of the favorite children list, experiences are the best gift you can give Dad this year.

That's the message TravelPulse founder and CEO Mark Murphy shared with this morning, giving three great getaways that are sure to make memories and not break the bank.

Mark talks about South African safaris being a huge bargain right now and points out the new Hyatt Ziva in Montego Bay, Jamaica as a great bang-for-the-buck all-inclusive resort.

He also talks about Alaska cruises being a great bargain and a once-in-a-lifetime trip for Dad. Here's more tips from TravelPulse on the latest Alaskan cruise ship offerings and how to pick the perfect Alaskan cruise ship.

Murphy also delves in the El Al policy to make flight attendants wear high heels while on the plane. Here's more from TravelPulse on the controversy.

And finally, Murphy discusses United's decision to move all operations out of John F. Kennedy International Airport in New York and shift those flights to Newark (N.J.) Liberty, where it's operations are already strong.

The move will allow for easier connections to West Coast and European flights to passengers flying through New York. The only flights United operated out of JFK were part of their Premium Service fleet. They will cede their JFK gate slots to Delta in exchange for taking some of Delta's gate slots at Newark.
