Experts are saying that more people are considering travel insurance these days, which is no surprise after terror attacks, natural disasters and political uprisings seem to be more frequent.
The New York Times documents the rise in interest in an article by Stephanie Rosenbloom that details the the sake in interest: “Since Brussels, really, we’ve seen that number growing and growing,” said Rachael Taft, a spokeswoman for Squaremouth.com, a travel insurance comparison site. “So it’s definitely top of mind.”
Other companies have documented a rise in interest in travel insurance as well.
“Unfortunately as a result of activity like this, we do see a slight uptick in people that are interested in travel insurance; it makes them think of risk,” said John Cook, the founder of QuoteWright.com, a travel insurance comparison and shopping site. “We just hate to see events like this happen.”
