As CNN reports, Osteria Francescana was awarded the label of best restaurant on the planet, which is thanks to a "voting panel of 1,000 judges that were subject to adjudication."
Essentially, this is a bucket list all wrapped up with a nice bow for travelers who pack luggage and amble foreign roads with their stomachs. Osteria Francescana - (Modena, Italy)
According to the voters, it was Massimo Bottura's willingness to experiment and further the cuisine that helped garner this place the vaunted prize.
And if you're wondering, you can pick from one of two tasting menus or traipse around the selections with an ala carte option.
El Celler de Can Roca - (Girona, Spain)
Three brothers see their beloved restaurant slip to No. 2 this year. As noted, this is the same spot that closes one month every summer so chefs can travel abroad to cultivate a taste that is re-introduced back into the cuisine.
It's that dedication that keeps it in the upper echelon of restaurants around the world.
Eleven Madison Park - (New York, USA)
Take a bow, America. This nation is represented well by New York's Eleven Madison Park, which regales diners with a $295 experience that will walk you through seasonal tastes through as many as nine courses.
Other American restaurants slipping into the top 50 are Chicago's Alinea, San Francisco's Saison and New York's Le Bernardin, Estela and Blue Hill at Stone Barns.
