Where Do New York, Las Vegas Fall On List Of America's Most Fun Cities?

Whether it’s because of a great bar, amazing food or resplendent attractions, the number one reason we all travel is for fun.Thankfully, there is a list for those leisure aficionados out there. Personal-finance website WalletHub unveiled its list of the most fun cities in America for 2016.
Essentially, if you are scouring these here Internets for a list that settles the question of where to party once and for all, this may just be it.
You may be skeptical as to its findings, but WalletHub went into depth to bring back the places that will yield the biggest smiles, and — spoiler alert — Las Vegas reigns supreme this year. It’s one of a few obvious cities that made the top 10.
WalletHub broke down locations based on the number of various amenities and attractions that filled the destination.
Its metrics page explains that a plethora of options were considered. Here are just a few: Number of Restaurants per Capita; Number of Amusement Parks per Capita; Number of Festivals per Capita; and Number of Sport Venues per Capita.
The website explains: “We evaluated these categories using 51 relevant metrics, which are listed below with their corresponding weights. Each metric was graded on a 100-point scale, with 100 indicating the greatest number and variety of fun and cost-effective options.”
Basically, you are getting some semblance of how entertaining a city would be based on available attractions and tourism diversions.
Of course, when you are judging on things per capita, the larger cities may plummet to the bottom. What’s most interesting is a place like New York City, a destination teeming with options, ranks No. 121 out of the 150 cities featured.
That’s not to say we don’t adore this list, because it highlights those locations that don’t normally get love on similar travel breakdowns.

The top ten in regards to bang-for-your-buck entertainment are, in order, Las Vegas, Orlando, Miami, New Orleans, Salt Lake City, Cincinnati, Fort Lauderdale, St. Louis, Atlanta and Scottsdale.
You may have Los Angeles and its Disneyland attractions or New York and its myriad options for your next holiday, but you may be just as happy in Cincinnati or St. Louis.

The website has far more information for you to consider, such as the best places to target if you love festivals (Honolulu and San Francisco) or playgrounds (Cincinnati and Madison, Wisc.).
Obviously, there is absolutely no reason not to cross off those grand cities from your list like Chicago or New York. But this list is a fantastic illustration of all the wonderful options we have in this magnificent country.
Just about every state boasts a hidden gem that is just itching to delight the senses.
