MAST Announces Launch of New PR Campaign and Website at Annual Conference
The MAST Travel Network announced the launch of its Consumer Awareness and P.R. Campaign at its recent 25th annual conference, held at the Williamsburg Lodge in Williamsburg, Va.
John Werner, MAST president and COO, screened a new video created to promote the use of travel agents, specifically MAST agents, to consumers. Members and suppliers also viewed the unveiling of MAST’s new website, featuring an agency profiler marketed to consumers through MAST’s social media and web marketing platforms.

Nearly 260 members and suppliers attended the conference, held April 28 to May 2. The MAST network has more than 180 locations with members in thirteen states in the Midwest and Canada.
MAST members will have access to the new video for use in their own marketing. MAST's social media marketing and presence will also be expanding through this campaign.
The network plans to boost its presence on social media sites, promoting the use of travel agents and showcasing its member’s specialties.
The agency profiler, part of its new consumer-friendly website, is aimed at showcasing to potential clients its members’ personalities and expertise.
Agencies must demonstrate they know how to analyze information, give guidance on their analysis, make recommendations and interpret value.
Yet travel is emotional so today’s traveler is looking for someone they can relate to on a more personal level; someone who understands them, and has experience doing the same things they want to experience, said Werner.
While all agency profile platforms are built to help connect potential customers with MAST members, the network also designed its platform for members to share their personal stories.
MAST agencies, for example, have been asked to share their stories on a few of the unique or special experiences they have arranged for customers as well as stories about especially interesting, exciting or fun trips they have booked along with their great travel tips.
Other new features of the re-designed website include:
• Its responsive feature. The layout and elements of the webpages change to fit different devices, including desktops, laptops, tablets and mobile phones.
• The addition of a more “public side,” providing non-members with a look at what MAST offers.
• More member account information, including detailed reports for MAST programs such as Marketing Credits and MAST Rewards.
• Re-organized Member Tools to make them easier for members to find and use.
This year’s conference also introduced new programming features, including specialist training courses and certification, an industry executives panel on the future of the travel agent profession, member-led sessions and more time to trade ideas with other participants, sessions on how to use social media to increase sales, and speakers from outside the industry offering their fresh perspectives.
