The Travel Leaders Group's Hotel Division announced the launch of its luxury "Select Wellness Collection" Wednesday, the culmination of the group's efforts to combine curated travel experiences and luxury hotel stays.
The collection launches with 40 hotel and spa resorts around the world, and more are expected to be added down the road.
The Select Wellness Collection is exclusive in that its experiences are only available to travelers who book through Travel Leaders Group travel agents.
Travel Leaders Group's Hotel Division leadership cited booming wellness tourism as motivation to develop the collection, with the help of wellness travel and spa expert Sallie Fraenkel.

"Since wellness travel is projected to grow by more than 9 percent annually - nearly 50 percent faster than overall global tourism - we created our Select Wellness Collection to meet the growing demand for this type of experience among our agents' clientele," said Erick Rodriguez, senior vice president of Travel Leaders Group's Hotel Division, in a statement.
"Our curated collection is designed to cater to our agents' most discerning and affluent travelers," he explained.
Citing the Global Wellness Institute, Travel Leaders Group said wellness tourism currently accounts for roughly six percent of all domestic and international travel and 14 percent of all tourism spending around the world.
What's more, spending on wellness tourism is projected to exceed $678 billion next year.
In addition to addressing the demands of the fast growing market, the creation of the Select Wellness Collection allows Travel Leaders Group to provide greater visibility for its participating properties.

"As noted last month, our long-range strategy for further elevating the customer experience is to enable our agents to deliver exceptional curated hotel offerings developed exclusively for our agencies," Ninan Chacko, CTC, CEO for Travel Leaders Group said in a statement. "Our Select Wellness Collection is our first major step in realizing that goal, thus increasing our agents' competitive edge even further."
