Negril is a town in Jamaica known for its laid-back attitude and incredible beaches. And Couples Resorts is a great place to head if you are seeking a tranquil escape where you can relax on sandy beaches that merge into calm, turquoise waters.
Another major draw to Negril is the wide range of exciting things you can do here. No matter what type of getaway you envision, you can find something that fits the bill.
One popular option: a night cruise that takes you on a tour of the Luminous Lagoon. The lagoon glows under the moonlight while you journey around an environment that is both mystical and hypnotic. You can even take a dip in the waters, if you like.
Another way to explore the local waters is to embark on a day trip that cruises around the Black River, YS Falls and Appleton Rum Estate. You will discover that the water-based attractions extend far beyond the beaches. Go for a swim at the bottom of YS Falls, or just keep an eye out for all of the exotic wildlife you will see around this area.
A stroll along the beautiful Seven Mile Beach is something that should also definitely be in your plans during your stay. This legendary beach seems to have magical ability to wash all of your stress away—and it’s also a great spot to enjoy some romantic moments with that special someone. A lesser known alternative: Bloody Bay. Don’t let the violent-sounding moniker fool you—this is a quiet and peaceful beach dotted with fishing boats and quaint little huts. Many people appreciate its authentic local character which seems to perfectly epitomize everything you hope Jamaica will be.
While you are strolling around, visit the Negril Lighthouse, one of the most well-known landmarks in the region. The view from the grounds surrounding the lighthouse is stunning, but the view from the top (if you are lucky enough to be granted access) is beyond compare.
Another of the amazing natural attractions that you won’t want to miss: the Negril cliffs. There’s a bar at the top where you can enjoy the view and people watch. This is where you will also be able to watch all of the people who dive off the cliffs—or perhaps you will even decide to join them, if you are brave enough. If you prefer to view them from a less daunting vantage point, join in on one of the boat tours that provide a cliff view.
There are entertainment options galore here. Take your choice of the clubs and bars that are plentiful all around town. If you prefer to stay outdoors, there is often live music on the beach. Pub crawls and bus bar crawls are also common events.
Those who prefer a quieter environment can simply stake out a secluded spot anywhere on or near the beach, settle in and get comfortable as you watch the colorful sunset.
