While it may not be on your radar for a leisure Mexico vacation, the town of Juriquilla provides ample diversions for those visiting the northernmost part of Santiago de Queretaro.
Industry tends to be the major draw for business travelers thanks to Parque Industrial Queretaro, one of Queretaro State’s most significant business parks that houses more than 70 international companies. Parks in Jurica, Benito and La Cruz add to the area’s roster.
Juriquilla has also evolved into a science cluster, boasting four universities that include National Autonomous University of Mexico’s (UNAM) Juriquilla Campus and University of the Valley of Mexico (UVM) Campus Queretaro.
Nodding to visitors who may require longer stays, InterContinental Hotels Group (IHG) has debuted the 100-room Candlewood Suites Queretaro-Juriquilla as that brand’s first property in Mexico. The newcomer joins the Staybridge Suites Queretaro to expand the company’s extended stay brands.
According to Gerardo Murray, IHG’s regional vice president, Brands and Marketing, Mexico, Latin America & Caribbean, the debut of the Candlewood Suites in Mexico marks a milestone in the development of IHG’s extended stay brands. “As the eighth IHG property in Queretaro – which has undergone significant development with the addition of numerous international companies – the hotel is looking forward to welcoming both business and leisure travelers looking for a comfortable and home-like stay.”
Location is key, with the six-story Candlewood Suites situated near Juriquilla’s Parque Industrial Queretaro and Parque Industrial Jurica. At the end of the workday, it appeases with easy access to Antea Lifestyle Center and Juriquilla Golf Course.
