The Aberdare Country Club, a lodge in a 1,300-acre wildlife sanctuary northeast of Nairobi, Kenya, introduced horseback riding to its roster of activities available to guests. Five horses are available and can be taken out alone or with a guide.
The new offering will be incorporated into a list of available activities that includes game drives, nature walks, gym workouts, swimming, golfing, tennis, yoga and rhino trekking. Guests can now ride horseback among the zebras, Thompson’s gazelles, warthogs and Rothschild giraffes that live in the area. The game sanctuary has no predators.
The Aberdare Country Club is in the Aberdare Highlands, which are part of the Great Rift Valley. The management strives to maintain the ambience of a private home or country inn.
