AccorHotels is looking to enhance guests' in-room entertainment experience at its properties around the globe, announcing a partnership with Samsung Electronics.

As part of the deal, Samsung will provide the Paris-based hotel operator with its SMART Hospitality Display technology, including ultra-high-definition (UHD) displays in guestrooms, lobbies, bars and restaurants. That means a clearer picture from the room to the hotel bar.

In a statement, AccorHotels' Deputy CEO Vivek Badrinath said that the group's decision to partner with Samsung emphasizes its commitment to meeting guests' technology and connectivity needs and "helps to differentiate our offering."

In addition to UHD displays, the partnership will allow AccorHotels' various brands to access Samsung's LYNK Hospitality Management platform. This technology provides both staff and guests with greater control over in-room environments, this includes lighting and other energy use.

Through the new partnership, the duo will also begin to implement a wireless printing solution as well as video-on-demand (VOD) and streaming platforms.

"We are excited to partner with AccorHotels to transform the hotel experience and provide our innovative hospitality solutions to even more global consumers," Samsung Electronics' Senior Vice President of the Enterprise Business Team, Visual Display Business Seog-gi Kim said in a statement.

"Our hospitality solutions and industry-leading expertise enable recognized global hoteliers to offer world-class in-room entertainment technology to better differentiate and strengthen their hotel brands in a highly competitive industry."

AccorHotels and Samsung also revealed that they will explore additional possibilities through the development of an experimental hotel in Seoul, South Korea. The project will aim to provide a uniquely interactive guest experience via ultramodern technology and connectivity.
