Alain Ducasse to Present Rivea and Skyfall Lounge at Delano Las Vegas in Fall 2015

World-renowned chef Alain Ducasse will debut a Mediterranean restaurant and a lounge with spectacular views at Delano Las Vegas in fall 2015.

Rivea restaurant will feature Mediterranean dishes inspired by Provence and Italy, sourced with West Coast-sourced seasonal ingredients. Pizzette, pastas and grilled items with Mediterranean accents will be featured, as well as signature dishes such as crispy socca, a traditional cold cut board, stuffed baby vegetables, an original niçoise salad in a chickpea wrap, gilt-head bream with a minestrone reduction and a lemon shortbread and limoncello sorbet dessert.

Aperitifs will be served before the meal, while sommeliers will provide suggestions on spirits and classic Italian cocktails. The wine list will include more than 300 wines from France, Italy and California. Traditional digestifs such as grappa will cap off the meal.

“Rivea will bring the soul of the French and Italian Rivieras to Las Vegas locals and visitors alike,” Ducasse said, via a release. “Its comfortable, vibrant environment and seductive menu will make guests feel as though they’ve been transported to those endless summers in the south of France. And at the same time, it’s sparkling and relaxing, secret and select, chic and low-key.”

The design of the restaurant, courtesy of Paris-based and French-Canadian design duo Patrick Jouin and Sanjit Manku, will feature maritime blues and yellow accents for a “laid-back vibe,” according to the release. Mahogany banquettes inspired by the yachts of Venice will adorn the restaurant’s 200-seat dining room, while wooden Venetian blinds and a lighted “Wave Wall”—hundreds of glass squares patterned to resemble the lapping motion of the Mediterranean Sea—will surround leather chairs. A chandelier composed of 15,000 hand-blown glass spheres from Murano will be the centerpiece of the dining room.

Rivea will also include a 50-seat private dining room with floor-to-ceiling windows and sweeping views of the Las Vegas Strip, complete with a light fixture with twinkling lights arranged to represent the constellations in Vegas’ night sky above.

Skyfall Lounge, located adjacent to Rivea, will feature 180-degree views of Vegas. It designed to be both a place for sipping Champagne casually and dancing the night away to upbeat house and dance music.

The contemporary, theatre-style space, also designed by Jouin Manku, will feature multiple levels looking out to the Vegas skyline, as well as an outdoor patio. “Seating islands” will surround the dance floor for more private retreats from the action, while the décor will simulate an evening sunset with deep purple, red and honey-gold colors and subtle cloud forms hanging overhead.

Domestic handcrafted cocktails, craft beers and wine will be offered, along with light fare from Rivea such as tigelle sandwiches and squid fritters.

Hours of operation for Rivea will be 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. Sunday through Thursday and 6 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. Friday and Saturday. Skyfall Lounge will be open 5 p.m. to midnight Sunday through Thursday and 5 p.m. to 1 a.m. Friday and Saturday.

Ducasse features more than two dozen restaurants around the world, including Benoit New York and Rivea restaurants in France and London.
